Who this policy is for
This policy covers the Mego Agent app — used by agents who register and support members on Mego Matrimony's behalf — and describes what we collect about you as an agent. It is a separate policy from the Mego Matrimony member app's Privacy Policy, because an agent and a member are different kinds of users with different data on file. Mego Agent is operated by Mego Consultancy.
Information we collect about you
Account details. Your mobile number (used to sign in via a one-time code), and optionally an email address.
Identity and background details. Your full name, age, gender, address, blood group, an emergency contact name and phone number, and — where relevant to your specialisation — religion, caste/community, and years of experience. Your service address is geocoded to a location once during registration; we do not track your location in the background.
A verification selfie. Taken once when you register, and again each time you file a new member's profile. It confirms the agent filing a profile is actually you, not someone using your logged-in phone — it is matched against your own profile photo using Amazon Rekognition (part of Amazon Web Services), the same face-matching service used to verify members.
Payout details. If you choose a payout method, your bank account name, account number, IFSC code, bank name, or UPI ID — used solely to pay your commission.
Agreements. A timestamp recording when you accepted our non-solicitation and code-of-conduct terms.
Your public directory profile. If you turn on directory visibility, your bio, photo, languages spoken, and specialisations become visible to prospective members browsing for an agent to help them. This is off by default and entirely your choice.
Activity and earnings data. The members you've registered, the stage each one is at, and the commission points and payments this earns you.
Device and notification data. A push-notification token so we can alert you to new assignments or commission updates, and standard technical data such as app version and device type.
Member data you handle on our behalf
While registering a member, you collect their profile details, a selfie, and — where applicable — a government ID document. This is the member's personal data, not yours: it is governed by the Mego Matrimony Privacy Policy, and you're expected to collect and handle it only for the purpose of that registration, with the member's knowledge.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your agent account and verify it's really you filing each profile
- To pay out the commission you've earned
- To show your directory profile to prospective members, if you've opted in
- To send you notifications about your pipeline and earnings
- To respond to support requests and investigate misuse
Who we share it with
Prospective members see your directory profile only if you've opted in to it — never your payout, contact, or background details.
Service providers, strictly to run the app: Amazon Web Services (hosting and selfie verification), and Google/Firebase (push notifications).
Legal requirements. If required by law or to investigate a safety or conduct report.
We do not sell your personal or payout data to anyone.
Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Access to agent data, including payout details, is limited to the systems and staff who need it to operate the service.
Your choices and rights
- Update your profile and payout details at any time from the app
- Turn your public directory visibility on or off
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data

Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
